Holistic Architecture

End to End

I believe in taking a focused, holistic approach to all infrastructure. Knowing how components are interconnected and interdependent on each other allows me to build solid infrastructure across all variants of the stack.

For example, knowing how things like SQL Server interface with compute and storage, and how applications themselves are interfacing with the data in SQL Server will ultimately allow to build better infrastructure to support that particular system.

Modern Holistic Architectures, I believe, have 4 things that need to be taken in to consideration when building and designing infrastructure solutions:

  • Analysis and Analytical Thinking
    • What do we need and how will we make it work?
  • Interoperability
    • How will what we build fit in to the existing ecosystem?
  • Personalization
    • How is this different, if needed, from industry standards?
  • Valid and Documented Design
    • Is the design valid and is it documented?

Infrastructure is all interconnected. Knowing how it all comes together helps build better solutions.
